Princeton Audubon, Wood Thrush Plate 73
These reproductions are very high quality offset lithographs. They are first generation prints, meaning they are just one step away from the actual originals. While others, such as the fine Amsterdam and Abbeville editions, were produced by copying small photographs of originals, making them copies of a copy (two steps away, or second generation prints), the Princeton Collection was produced by copying the originals themselves, which were purchased and physically used in the reproduction process. There are no other Audubon prints in the world produced through this direct-camera process. And no other prints in the world can match the unique results, namely incredible detail and color fidelity. These true Audubon reproductions set the original standard for museum-quality Audubon reproductions.
